Howdy, Ags!
As you walk across the Texas A&M campus, you will find numerous tributes to Aggies who have given their lives in service to our nation. Individual monuments and memorials honor the noble men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice in conflicts dating back
to the Spanish-American War through today’s War on Terror, and our Memorial Student Center stands proudly as a living memorial to those who gave their lives in service to our nation in all conflicts, past and present. Without a doubt, Aggies remember.
As our nation pauses on Memorial Day to remember those who have made the ultimate sacrifice in service to our nation, the significance of this day resonates with Aggies. It is a day that aligns with our core values, especially the values of loyalty, respect
and selfless service. As we each enjoy Memorial Day activities with friends and family, I invite you to reflect on the sacrifice this day represents and join with the Board of Directors and staff of The Association of Former Students in remembering the more
than 1,100 Aggies whose selfless service is honored daily as Aggies remove their hats upon entering our MSC.
For more than a century, Texas Aggies have bravely and faithfully gone where duty has called and continue to do so today. We gratefully remember and honor those who did not return. We salute, as well, those who served with integrity and returned home to loved
ones and look forward to the safe return of all those who loyally serve today!
With Gratitude,
Porter S. Garner III '79

Since Sept. 11, 2001, 29 Aggies have been killed in service to our country. Their names, ranks and photographs are posted at
AggieNetwork.com/Heroes. As we commemorate those who gave their all in service to America, you are invited to share any comments you have as we commit to memory those lost.
You can also post messages of support for our troops. Write a note on AggieNetwork.com/TroopSupport and your messages of support will be shared with our troops through email communications
and mailed care packages where possible.
The
Clayton W. Williams, Jr. Alumni Center will be closed in observance of Memorial Day, Monday, May 27. We will resume regular business hours Tuesday, May 28.
