Mark Hasse '77, a Texas assistant district attorney, was killed Thursday morning near the courthouse where he worked as Chief Prosecutor.

The shooting occurred just before 9 a.m. as he was walking from his car to his office. According to reporting done by the Dallas Morning News, he had been heavily involved in the investigation of members of the Aryan Brotherhood.

In the same article, Hasse was described as "an incredible person in every way. He had the right moral standards.” He served as president of the Dallas chapter of Mothers Against Drunk Driving.
