Young Alumni Weekend 2015 Date Announced and More!

   "I am the Aggie Network"

The impact of The Association of Former Students is seen in many areas of student life at Texas A&M, from Class Councils to The Big Event. Together, WE are the Aggie Network. This is the first in a four-part series by the Young Alumni Advisory Council. Small gifts make a difference and you have an incredible opportunity to ensure that the tradition of "the other education" continues on for future generations of Aggies. Act now!

Thank you to everyone who participated in the first ever Young Alumni Weekend! If you weren't able to attend, check out this video of some of the highlights. You can also view the photo booth pictures on the Texas A&M Young Alumni Facebook Page.

Since the inaugural event was such a huge success, plans are already in the making to do things bigger and better in 2015! The next Young Alumni Weekend will take place Sept. 18-19 during the Nevada home football game weekend, so save the date and be on the look out for more details!

Also, in an effort to reach our goal of 12,000 donors before the new, extended deadline of Dec. 12, we are offering a special incentive to those who participate in the 12K Challenge! Anyone who contributes (at any amount!) will be eligible for EARLY registration and access to Young Alumni Weekend tickets before they are officially released. Remember these tickets sold out quickly for 2014 so you will want to take advantage of this opportunity!

2015 12 Under 12 Young Alumni Spotlight Recipients

Each year, The Association of Former Students' 12 Under 12 Young Alumni Spotlight recognizes 12 Aggies who have graduated within the past 12 years for their outstanding accomplishments in business, civic service and philanthropy, and for representing Texas A&M's core values of excellence, integrity, leadership, loyalty, respect, and selfless service.  The 12 Under 12 Alumni Spotlight was conceived by the Young Alumni Advisory Council, a body of young former students who advise The Association's staff on matters related to young alumni programming and communications. Profiles of this year's winners can be found here.

Applications for the 2016 12 Under 12 will open in the spring of 2015.

Visit the magical city of London during the festive holiday season and celebrate New Year’s Eve in style with the Traveling Aggies! London has been called a “world in one city” with a melting pot of cultures and royal pomp and pageantry. Tales of Dickens come to life and all of her halls are decked out for your viewing pleasure. Big Ben, Buckingham Palace, and Piccadilly Circus: These familiar names become familiar places on a guided city tour that ends at the Hyde Park Christmas Market. Enjoy post-holiday Christmas shopping and time to explore London town and visit the festive pubs. Make New Year’s Eve a night to remember, then start the new year right with a traditional high tea and a champagne toast aboard the London Eye.

Before Borchard graduated in 2006 with a Bachelor of Science in psychology, she devoted her time to various student organizations, most notably Class Councils. Between graduation and her return back to Houston to marry Henry Borchard '05, she worked as Texas A&M's Office of Administration and Records first program coordinator planning events. Upon her move to Houston, Borchard creatively worked to grow the business of a local wedding vendor and also gained experience in the travel industry with a group travel agency. In the spring of 2011, Borchard began plans to launch her own event planning and coordination firm which was formally established in July 2011 as Event Identify, LLC.

When Borchard is not with her clients, she thoroughly enjoys her time in the kitchen preparing gourmet meals for her husband, family and friends, or she is playing with her favorite pup, Ember. Ultimately, however, her greatest joy resumes each day with her dedication to her clients and creating their extraordinary events.
