Committee Narrows Search For President
The Texas A&M University presidential search committee has narrowed a list of potential
top administrators to three nationally recognized sitting campus presidents. A&M
professor and committee Chairman Doug Slack would not reveal any names, but he did
state that one of the candidates is ranked by peers as one of the top five university
presidents in the nation. No definitive schedule has been established for completing
the search. Board of Regents Chairman Bill Jones ’81 said the panel would take as
long as necessary to adequately review each candidate. For more on this story, go

Maroon Out 2007 Continues
The Texas A&M Class Councils are working to promote Maroon Out 2007. Maroon Out
is an annual event in which all Aggies are encouraged to wear maroon for a specific
home football game to unify the 12th Man and provide extra support for the team.
This year’s Maroon Out game is scheduled for Friday, Nov. 23, when the Aggies take
on Texas. In an effort to include as many people as possible, Class Councils will
be selling their specially designed Maroon Out T-shirts throughout the fall for
$5 each. Shirts can be purchased online or at G. Rollie White Coliseum during the
four hours leading up to every home football game. For further information on Maroon
Out, go to

Food Drive Set For OSU Football Game
Volunteers will collect food to benefit the Brazos Valley Food Bank on Oct. 6 at
A&M's football game at Kyle Field against Oklahoma State. The Texas A&M Student-Athlete
Advisory Committee and Aggie Athletes Involved are conducting the food drive. Student-athletes
will begin collecting food three hours before kickoff. Fans can drop off cans of
food or make monetary donations to the volunteers, who will be dressed in bright
lime green "Aggies CAN" shirts. In addition, volunteers will also sell the lime
green "Aggies CAN" wrist bands for $1 each. The goal of the eighth annual “Aggies
CAN” food drive is to again fill food backpacks for local children. The backpacks
are taken home from school on Fridays and contain ready-to-eat food so that each
child is guaranteed to have meals over the weekend.
