The Association Celebrates May Graduates
The Association of Former Students hosted more than 800
new graduates, including friends and family, at the Clayton W. Williams, Jr. Alumni
Center on May 11 for "The Next Tradition" (TNT) graduation party. These new former
students were treated to hamburgers, given the chance to win various door prizes,
introduced to Career Center and A&M Club representatives and were provided with
their first opportunity to join the Century Club.
2007 Coach's Tour Kicks Off
Every summer The Association partners with The 12th Man Foundation and local A&M
Clubs to take Texas A&M Head Football Coach Dennis Franchione on a tour across Texas,
enabling him to visit with crowds of Aggies all along the way. The 2007 Coach's
Tour kicks off June 13 in San Antonio and will continue throughout the summer. Coach's
Nights have proven to be an Aggie experience like no other, as they provide a unique
setting for camaraderie, scholarship fundraising and, of course, the chance to get
the inside scoop on Fightin' Texas Aggie football from Coach Fran himself! For more

Texas Aggie Calls for Tailgating Photos
In an effort to portray the unique Aggie tailgating experience at Texas A&M, Texas
Aggie magazine is asking for all Aggies to share their photos that best capture
those moments. Our staff will compile the entries and showcase a few of the best

Aggie Ring Orders and Repairs Available
The Association of Former Students' Aggie Ring Program is currently taking Aggie
Ring orders for qualified former students. Rings ordered by June 22 will be delivered
on Sept. 21 at the Clayton W. Williams, Jr. Alumni Center. Rings may be ordered
in person, by mail or by fax. The Aggie Ring Program can assist you with your Aggie
Ring if it needs to be resized or repaired as well. You can either stop by The Association

Record Number of Students Graduate from Texas A&M
Texas A&M University held four separate commencement ceremonies May 11-12 for 5,417
degree candidates—a new school record. Commencement speakers included New York Daily
News Washington Bureau Chief Tom DeFrank '67, CNN Senior Vice President for International
Relations Rolando Santos '78, U.S. District Judge Sim Lake '66 and Speaker of the
Texas A&M Faculty Senate Dr. Douglas Slack. For more on this story, go to

Code Maroon Established for Emergency Notifications
Earlier this month, in the wake of the tragic events that recently unfolded on the
Virginia Tech campus, Interim President Eddie J. Davis '67 announced the creation
of an emergency notification program at Texas A&M called Code Maroon. Members of
the campus community who enroll in Code Maroon will be able to receive emergency
communications from university representatives through e-mails and text messages.
"By enrolling all members of the university community in this program, we will have
significantly enhanced our potential for communicating important, safety-related
information to you in the shortest possible period of time," Davis said in a memo

Reminder for Aggie 100 Deadlines
Mays Business School's Center for New Ventures and Entrepreneurship at Texas A&M
University will accept nominations for the third annual Aggie 100 program through
Thursday, May 31 and will accept applications through Saturday, June 30. The Aggie
100 celebrates the 100 fastest-growing Aggie-owned or Aggie-led businesses in the
world. Applicants will be ranked by compound annual revenue-growth rate for the
2004 to 2006 period. Graduates from every Texas A&M degree program are eligible.
The 100 companies with the greatest percentage growth will be named members of the

Aggie Yell Leaders Announce Plans for First Yell 2007
The Texas Aggie Yell Leaders have announced that the ninth annual First Yell will
be held Aug. 31-Sept. 1 in conjunction with the Texas A&M football game against
Montana State. The featured event of the weekend will be a performance by comedians
Colin Mochrie and Brad Sherwood on Friday, Aug. 31 in Reed Arena. Mochrie and Sherwood
are best known for their work on ABC's improvisational comedy show Whose Line Is
It Anyway? and are currently touring in their critically-acclaimed, two-man improve
show, An Evening with Colin Mochrie and Brad Sherwood. They will headline the show
which in the past has featured such guests as Bill Cosby, Jeff Foxworthy, Bill Engvall
and Wayne Brady. As has been done in previous years by such acts as the Singing
Cadets, Aggie Wranglers, Freudian Slip and Percussion Studio, First Yell 2007 will
again open with performances by students at Texas A&M. For more information, go

Fish Camp Registration Begins May 29
As new students prepare
for the next big step in their educational careers, Aggies are eager to remind them about Texas A&M Fish Camp.
Fish Camp
is an extended orientation program to help high school graduates successfully transition
into their first year of college. Through camp programs and the varied experiences
of current students, the Class of 2011 will learn about Texas A&M's rich traditions,
academic preparation and tips for adjusting to college life. They will also have
the opportunity to build relationships with fellow freshmen and additional students
that can last throughout their time at Texas A&M and beyond. For more information

Nominations Accepted for Agriculture, Life Sciences Alumni
Awards
Nominations are being accepted for the 2007 College of Agriculture and Life Sciences
Outstanding Alumni Awards. The Outstanding Alumni Award recognizes graduates of
the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences for outstanding leadership and significant
contributions in agriculture, natural resources, life sciences or related areas
