Announce 2007 Distinguished Alumni
Texas A&M University and The Association of Former Students are proud to
announce the recipients of the 2007 Distinguished Alumnus Award: Raul B.
Fernandez '59 of San Antonio; Preston M. Geren, Jr. '45 of Fort Worth; and
Roderick D. Stepp '59 of Fort Worth. In addition, Texas A&M and The
Association are posthumously recognizing Edwin J. Kyle, Class of 1899.
Established in 1962, the Distinguished Alumnus Award is the highest honor
bestowed upon a former student of Texas A&M University. The award
recognizes outstanding Aggies who have made significant contributions in their
professions, to Texas A&M and to their local communities. For more

Torrijos Honored as 2007 Outstanding
International Alumnus
His Excellency Martίn Torrijos Espino, president of the Republic of Panama
and 1987 graduate of Texas A&M, was officially presented with the 2007
Texas A&M University Outstanding International Alumnus Award on Feb. 28 at
the College Station campus.The award, sponsored jointly by the university and
The Association of Former Students, honors former students who were not U.S.
citizens while attending school but who went on to achieve prominence in their
careers and reflect positively on Texas A&M. "President Torrijos is a great
example of what we would like all of our students to aspire to," said Texas
A&M Interim President Ed Davis '67. "He has helped export the core values
of Texas A&M of excellence, leadership, integrity, loyalty, respect and
selfless service, so important to Aggie culture." For more, go to

Qatar Campus Celebrates New
Facilities
Texas A&M University at Qatar officially dedicated its new
595,000-square-foot facilities this month amid three days of festivities in the
nation's capital city of Doha. The $142 million, state-of-the-art facility will
aid in enhancing academic programs and expanding enrollment. Since it was
founded in 2003, Texas A&M at Qatar has been operating in temporary
quarters while offering undergraduate degrees in chemical, electrical,
mechanical and petroleum engineering. For more, go to

Davis Issues University Update
Earlier this month, Texas A&M University Interim President Ed Davis '67

Nominations Being Accepted for Aggie 100
Mays Business School's Center for New Ventures and Entrepreneurship at Texas
A&M University is now accepting nominations for the third annual Aggie 100
program, which celebrates the 100 fastest-growing Aggie-owned or Aggie-led
businesses in the world. Applicants will be ranked by compound annual
revenue-growth rate for the 2004 to 2006 period. Graduates from every Texas
A&M degree program are eligible. The 100 companies with the greatest
percentage growth will be named members of the 2007 Aggie 100. For more

Rollins to Speak at Campus Muster
Brooke Leslie Rollins '94 was the first woman to serve as Texas A&M's
student body president, and now, she will also be the first woman to deliver
the keynote address at the university's Muster ceremony on April 21. Rollins
graduated cum laude from Texas A&M with a bachelor's degree in agricultural
development before earning her law degree from the University of Texas School
of Law. Rollins, who lives in Fort Worth, is currently president of the Texas

Aggie Designs Dallas Cowboys' New
Stadium
Bryan Trubey '83—a graduate of Texas A&M University's College of
Architecture and design principal for HKS, Inc.—is currently overseeing the
design of the Dallas Cowboys' new state-of-the-art stadium. The 2.3 million
square-foot, 80,000-seat stadium is scheduled to open in 2009 and will be the
largest home venue in the National Football League. Prior to this project,
Trubey has led the design of numerous other sports facilities around the world,
including most of the ones built in North Texas over the past decade. For more

Items Requested for Muster
Reflections
In order to more fully recognize the lives of our Aggies honored during Muster,
personal items of Roll Call honorees will be displayed as a living memorial
April 20-21 from 9 a.m.-4 p.m. in the MSC Flagroom. Family members of honorees
are invited to submit photographs, letters, stories or other personal items
that reflect on their friend or loved one's life. This display will offer a
look into who these Aggies were, what they did and how they touched those
