Howdy, Class of '79!

Our 35 Year Reunion is approximately six weeks away, November 7-9, 2014, in College Station. We hope you have marked your calendar and plan to join us for a great Reunion weekend! All Reunion events are optional, but we hope you will join us for as many as you can. It is tradition to have a Hospitality Suite at the Hilton throughout the Reunion and we will continue that tradition with the help of generous Classmates who fund the suite. We will provide light snacks, soft drinks, beer and wine...and of course lots of time for hanging out.REMEMBER: You must make a reservation for your hotel room by calling the Hilton AND you must register for the Reunion. You can fill out and return the inserted registration form but we encourage you to register online! Reserving your hotel room does NOT register you for Reunion events!

Your nametags, an updated schedule of events and a list of pre-registered participants will be waiting for you at the Reunion Check-In Desk, which will be located at each event throughout the weekend.

Pictures Needed
Although most of Saturday we will have the fightin’ Texas Aggie game on the Huddleston Video Wall at the Alumni Center, there will be some time prior to the game when we would like to present a Class of ’79 slide show of past and present pictures. We can only do this with your help. Send us pictures of your family, your children, your grandchildren, your travels, and any other pictures you would like to share with Classmates. In this highly technical age, we need jpg’s of your pictures. (That means you must send them electronically as an attachment to your email. If you don’t know how, ask your child to assist you.) We will have a special section of
“selfies”. Even if you are not attending the Reunion, you can be a part of the picture show. Send your pictures with your name to
aggie79reunion@gmail.com. Submit pictures by October 24 so they can be included in the show.

Class Agent Elections
Class Agents serve as a liaison between our Class and The Association. This is the perfect opportunity to get involved as a former student, stay connected to the university and help lead our Class in supporting Texas A&M.

The election for Class of ’79 agents will be held on Saturday, November 8 either before or after the game.

Teams consist of two to five members and serve a five year term. Class Agents serve on The Association of Former Students’ Leadership Council, which meets twice a year. Class Agents are responsible for keeping the Class informed through Newsletters, web sites and emails, planning Class events and providing annual fund information to former students.

You must contact the Class Programs staff at The Association of Former Students by October 24 at Class@AggieNetwork.com to be included on the ballot. For more information go to http://tx.ag/ClassAgent or email Class@AggieNetwork.com.

Consider a donation to the Hospitality Suite
A highlight of each Class Reunion is the hospitality suite where Classmates come together to hang out and tell stories while enjoying a refreshing beverage and a snack. Each of us has great memories of the “It Might Never Close Hospitality Suite.”

For this event to happen, we need the help of Classmates. Thank you for considering a donation to purchase supplies for the Hospitality Suite. Unfortunately, because of tax issues you cannot make this donation to The Association. You must write a check and send it via snail mail to our Class Agent. All donors will be acknowledged at our Reunion.

What amount to give? Any amount with the digits 79 is appropriate and preferably there are at least two digits before the period. ($79, $179, $1979 are all perfect!)

Send to: Wendy Neidigk
6310 Fox Hunt Dr., Arlington, TX 76001.
Make checks out to Class of ’79 Hospitality.
