Howdy, Sul Ross Ags!

Plans are being made for a tremendous Sul Ross Group Reunion for March 5-7, 2013, Tuesday through Thursday. We look forward to inducting the Class of '58 into the Group.

The university will be in session during this time, allowing us to schedule some interesting events and speakers and to interact with students. This will make it possible for us to receive the greatest amount of information and be brought up to date concerning our university.

The Headquarters Hotel for the Reunion is the College Station Hilton. Please note the deadline for registering on the registration form. It will be to your advantage to register as soon as possible. Remember that you can always cancel if something unforeseen arises. Please pay attention to The Association's cancellation policy as well as the hotel’s policy.

Check-in time with The Association of Former Students staff will begin at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, the 5th. You can find out at that time the location of the hospitality room and dinner for your particular Class at the registration area. In order to qualify for an individual Class Dinner, a Class must have at least 30 pre-registered members. If your Class does not qualify for a separate dinner, you will still be able to sit together as a Class at the Cluster Dinner.

Our ladies are welcome to attend all functions. However, while Wednesday’s business meeting is going on, they have the option of being entertained in the Board of Regents Quarters.

Sul Ross members have done so much for the school we love, and the Executive Board appreciates this more than you know. There is one more thing we need to do and that is to try to send in another $100.

As you will remember, we, as a group, committed to raise $200,000 in three years to fund a pillar for the renovated MSC Flag Room. Thus far, we have raised $168,000, leaving a balance of $32,000.

With a small amount from each of us, we will be able to finish our three-year commitment by the 2013 Sul Ross Reunion. We Aggies and members of the Sul Ross Group surely don’t want to default on our commitment to the students who, by the way, have pledged $80 million to the MSC renovation project.

It is only fitting that the Sul Ross Group have its name inscribed on one of the pillars to remind all future Aggies of the contribution made by former students who graduated 55 years ago. (I have seen the location of the pillar, and we will all be proud!)

We are hoping for an outstanding reunion turnout. Getting to visit and to know each other better will make this a very interesting and rewarding time.

Gig 'em,
Harry J. Green, Jr. '52
President, Sul Ross Group
