Class of '74 60th Birthday Mini Reunion!

Thursday, October 25
We have an exciting venue and activities planned and are looking forward to seeing all of you in the beautiful Hill Country.  A good number of us are planning to arrive Thursday.  We have no formal plans for Thursday and this is a great time for your small group get-together and touring the beautiful facility.  Putt-putt golf, swimming pools, tennis courts, golf courses, beach areas and great restaurant options are all available.  Boat outings can be arranged through the concierge or Cheryl can reserve a pontoon boat for groups up to 12 (or so).  A boat tour of the area lakes and beautiful lake homes is great.  Call Cheryl @ 817-266-7224 if you are interested in doing this.

Friday, October 26
Golf enthusiasts will play the fun Apple Rock Golf Course.  You will find this a great value at $140.  Scott is reserving six tee times between 9 and 10 a.m.  For anyone who might prefer a putting challenge, there is an 18-hole putting course nearby that offers grass and sand, a par 3, 4, and 5 and each is $15.  Call Scott Eberhart to sign up @ 817-729-7476.  
 
The Roll n’ Reunion will take to the roads and trails of the Hill Country around 10 a.m.  After a “Show of Wheels” at the resort, we will be traveling to scenic lookouts, wine vineyards, museums, beautiful views of the hillsides and lakes.  Motorcycles, sports cars, vintage vehicles, SUVs, or any form of transportation desired will form a procession and enjoy the sites together.  A stop for lunch in Llano and breaks for refreshments along the way will keep the fun going until mid-afternoon. Randy Maness (903-599-2214) and Alan Futrell (210-440-0952) will have details of this event, so please let them know of your plans to participate or any questions you might have.  No costs other than providing your own gas, lunch and refreshments.

Cheryl has been asked to reserve a party barge for Friday afternoon.  She needs 10-12 people to fill the boat and split the cost which is only $65/hour (2-hour minimum) and the cost of gas to fill up on the return.  If we exceed 12 requests, then we can reserve a second barge.  The boat will depart some time after lunch (TBD) and return when the group is ready.  It will be a fun tour and there are some beautiful homes around the lakes.  Bring your snacks and favorite adult beverages. If someone wants to provide the music, that would add to the fun!  Grab your buddies and let’s spend some time together on the water!

Dinner on Friday is informal.  We will suggest a local restaurant that can accommodate our group so that we can dine together if you choose to, but everyone is really on their own.  
 
Saturday, October 27
Birthday Party!  Dinner together at the Horseshoe Bay Marriott Resort.  Celebrate our birthdays!  Watch A&M Beat the Hell Outta Auburn on a big screen TV.  Lots of face time and visiting.  Cost included in registration fees.

Sunday, October 28   
Sunday Informal Worship Service and depart at your leisure.

Reunion Accommodations

A block of rooms is available on a first-come, first-served-basis, for your Class of '74 60th Birthday Mini Reunion at the Horseshoe Bay Marriott Resort. Make your reservations by calling the hotel directly and mentioning the appropriate group code.

For those who prefer alternative accommodations, but want to stay close-by, La Quinta Inn & Suites (830-798-2020) and Hampton Inn on the Lake (830-798-1895) are good options.  For everyone including those living close-by, feel free to drop in for the entire weekend, a dinner or just for Saturday’s game and birthday party.  We want everyone to join us for as little or as much as they can!

Please register online by clicking the link at the top of the page or return this Reunion Registration Form by mail to The Association of Former Students, 505 George Bush Dr., College Station, TX 77840, ATTN: Class of '74 Mini Reunion or by FAX 979-845-9263.

The registration fee is $74 per person, which includes dinner, meeting room, big screen TV, birthday cake, decorations and limited refreshments. Cash bar will be open during the game.
