Graveside service was held 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, March 28, 2012, at Montague Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the First United Methodist Church of Montague.
Arrangements were entrusted to the White Family Funeral Home of Bowie.
Kenneth was born July 11, 1926 to Willard and Lorena Katherine (Barnes) Shackelford in Montague County, Texas. He graduated from Montague High School and later from Texas A&M in 1951. Kenneth was a county agent and worked down in south Texas. He was also an AG teacher at BISD for 34 years until his retirement in 1986. Kenneth enjoyed hunting and collecting guns.
Kenneth married Lavella Gibson on August 15, 1947 in Bowie, Texas. They were married for 62 years until her passing on September 30, 2009. He is survived by their two daughters, Susan Beth Shackelford of Bowie, Norma "Jan" Fenoglio of Dallas, and three grandchildren.
He married Debra Jean Truax Deweber on November 11, 2011 in Montague, Texas.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Willard and Lorena Shackelford; previous wife, Lavella Shackelford.
Kenneth is survived by his wife, Debra Shackelford of Montague; four step-children, Leslie Shawn Rainey and husband, Billy of Justin, Jennifer Corine Heugatter of Bowie, Jerrod "Scott" Deweber of Bowie, and Jodi Elizabeth Deweber of Justin; three step-grandchildren; two sisters, Norma Sue Taylor and husband, Robert of Shreveport, LA, and Janelle Shackelford Homer of San Antonio; numerous nieces and nephews.
