Pablo D. Marvin '66 Honored as 2006 Outstanding International
Alumnus
Real estate and business executive Pablo D. Marvin, who now calls both Mexico
City and College Station home, was honored on March 2 as the 2006 Texas A&M
University Outstanding International Alumnus, culminating the university's
annual International Week celebration. Marvin graduated from Texas A&M in
1966 with a degree in business management and credits his alma mater with
instilling in him the principles and skills that have helped him excel in a
variety of endeavors. He has given back to his school in a host of ways,
including since 1993, making prime space available in the heart of Mexico
City's business district for programs that support the university's students
and faculty who go there for study and exchange programs. Last year, Marvin
provided additional space for Texas A&M to establish its Digital Imaging
Diabetes Research Center to serve Mexican citizens. For more, go to http://our-news.tamu.edu/newsmanager/templates/?a=2205&z=15.

Items Requested for Muster Reflections on Campus
In order to more fully recognize the lives of our honored Aggies, personal
items will be displayed as a living memorial to the Roll Call honorees. The
items will be displayed in the MSC Flagroom on Friday, April 21 from 10 a.m.-4
p.m. Family and friends of those being honored are asked to submit photographs,
letters, stories or other personal items reflecting on the lives of loved ones.
Due to the significance of these items, it is requested that only copies of
important documents are sent so that families may hold onto the originals. The
intent is to display anything that offers insight into who these Aggies were,
what they did and how they touched the lives of those around them. Items are
asked to be sent by April 1, preferably, but no later than April 21, to the
Muster Committee Cubicle in the Student Government Office in person or by mail:

Nominations of Fast-Growing Businesses Sought for "Aggie 100"
Know a successful Aggie business owner or leader overseeing an established,
growing company? Mays Business School's Center for New Ventures and
Entrepreneurship at Texas A&M University is now accepting nominations for
the second annual "Aggie 100" program, which celebrates the 100 fastest-growing
Aggie-owned or Aggie-led businesses in the world. Applicants will be ranked by
compound annual revenue growth rate for the 2003 to 2005 period. Graduates from
every Texas A&M degree program are eligible. The 100 companies with the
greatest percentage growth will be named members of the 2006 "Aggie 100". Last
year's "Aggie 100" drew more than 600 people to the campus for a luncheon
celebration to congratulate the 2005 honorees. While they were on campus,
"Aggie 100" representatives spoke to 1,200 students in classes and student
organizations. This year's program promises to be even larger, organizers say.

Mays School Recruiting for American Cancer Society Relay for
Life
Members of the Business Fellows Program of Mays Business School at Texas
A&M University are urging fellow Aggies to join the American Cancer
Society's inaugural Aggie Relay for Life on March 31 to help combat cancer with
research dollars. Teams of volunteers can sign up at http://aggierelay.tamu.edu. During the relay,
volunteers will take turns walking the track at Texas A&M's Penberthy
Intramural Field for 12 hours from 7 p.m. on March 31 to 7 a.m. on April 1. By
walking, teams raise funds and get sponsorships to complete the marathon,
donating the proceeds to the American Cancer Society to help beat cancer in the
Bryan-College Station area. Each team's goal is to keep at least one team
member on the track at all times. Each team sets a monetary goal for itself and
then gathers donations. Relay for Life begins with a cancer-survivor victory
lap. The relay represents the hope that those lost to cancer will never be
forgotten, that those who face cancer will be supported and that one day cancer
will be eliminated. All donations to the American Cancer Society are tax
deductible and will directly benefit both the Brazos County and national cancer
research. For more information, go to http://our-news.tamu.edu/newsmanager/templates/?a=2168&z=15

College of Veterinary Medicine and Biomedical Sciences
Celebrates 90 Years
From its humble beginnings in animal stalls and few professors to today's
state-of-the-art facilities that produce research that affects the world, Texas
A&M University's College of Veterinary Medicine and Biomedical Sciences
turns 90 this year amid a world that is far different than its founders
envisioned in 1916. Today, Texas A&M remains the only veterinary college in
Texas and one of the world's largest veterinary medicine schools — 1 of
every 10 practicing veterinarians in the United States has an Aggie diploma.
The College of Veterinary Medicine (it added Biomedical Sciences to its title
in 2004) produces world-class researchers and its animal care programs
continually draw praise from the international scientific community. In recent
years, the institution has become the cloning capital of the world — it is the
only organization that has successfully cloned six different species (cattle,
swine, a goat, a horse, deer and a cat) but it is also recognized for its
leading research in animal diseases and most recently, work in bioterrorism
issues. For more information, go to http://our-news.tamu.edu/newsmanager/templates/?a=2177&z=15
