Over 40,000 Attend Annual Maroon and White Game
An estimated 43,600 Aggie football faithfuls had a taste of the 2005-2006
A&M football season on April 9 at the annual Maroon and White Game at Kyle
Field. The game was a defensive battle, and a blocked punt by sophomore wide
receiver Kerry Franks midway in the third quarter proved to be a key play for
the White team. The White went on to defeat the Maroon 20-3. For more on this

Historic Season Ends for Aggie Men, Women's Basketball
After a two-round run in the post season WNIT and NIT tournaments, a historic
season came to an end for both the men's and women's basketball teams. Led by
head coach Gary Blair, the lady Aggies ended the year at 16-15, their most wins
since 1996, and won two rounds in the WNIT tournament. The post-season berth
was their first since 1996. The men, under first-year head coach Billy
Gillispie, finished at 21-10 overall, making them the most improved team in the
nation this year and in A&M history. The season also gave Gillispie the
best first-year start for any head coach in A&M history. Making their first
post-season appearance since 1994, the Aggie men advanced to the quarterfinal
round of the NIT before losing 58-51 to St. Joseph's. For more on this story,
